Responsible Sourcing

Joseph Jewellery believes in responsible corporate citizenship and understands the positive effect these values have for our customers, suppliers, and community. We also believe that upholding these principles is fundamental to achieving the long term goals of the Company. Our goal is to ensure that only conflict-free materials are used in our products, and we only source from suppliers who share these values.  In support of our responsible sourcing policy, Joseph Jewellery will:

•    Only accept gold from refiners on the LBMA good deliver list, EICC/GeSi conflict – free compliant smelter list, certified members of the Responsible Jewellery Council or refiners which certify and independently audit that all gold supplies are conflict free, in accordance with one of the following standards: RJC chain of custody standard, OECD Responsible Supply Chain of Minerals from Conflict-Affect and High Risk Areas Supplement or the World Gold Council Conflict-Free Standard.

•    Only accept gold from Precious Metals Trading Companies which certify and independently audit that all gold from Refineries and / or Banks which adhere to the Refinery & Bank compliance requirements listed above.

•    Only accept scrap and / or recycled gold from customers or suppliers which certify and independently audit that all scrap and recycled gold is identifiable as its own production and supply, i.e. scrap gold is returned product from customers, faulty inventory or scrap generated during the production process.

•    The Company is committed to selling diamonds ethically and with integrity, giving you confidence in the diamonds you purchase. We believe it is completely unacceptable to allow conflict diamonds and/or human suffering in any way and we fully support the Kimberley Process. We offer this commitment to you. In turn, it can act as your promise to your customers. All rough and polished diamonds sold by Aubade comply with the Kimberley Process.

•    When you buy diamonds from Joseph Jewellery, you can buy with confidence. We do not allow undisclosed synthetic diamonds in our inventory. We necessitate all our loose diamond and diamond set jewelry suppliers to certify that they are not supplying us with synthetics.

•    Joseph Jewellery observes strict practices with regards to the sourcing of gemstones. As a natural resource, gemstones can be found almost anywhere and are exchanged too frequently to keep an absolute accurate account of their exact origin. However, we engage in several practices to guarantee the integrity of the stones we purchase.
